Who runs the Electricity Supply Trade Union?
The ESTU is led by a team of 3 Trustees and 6 Council members. They are ably supported by 12 shop stewards. All representatives are full time employees of BELCO or iFM. There are no full time employees of the union.
How can I join the ESTU?
Unfortunately, as per the ESTU Constitution, we are only allowed to represent employees of BELCO and iFM.
Is an in house union effective?
Whilst there are conflicting opinions, we consider the composition of our union to be a strength. Every interaction we have with management is tempered by that fact that we are affected by the outcome as well. When the representatives fight for the members they fight for themselves as well.
